A PERSONAL NOTE

This week, I tried to focus on the little things. I did a deep clean and moved some furniture around. I noticed that some spring-flowering trees were already in bloom. (Of course, I live in the Carolinas where the seasons change 3 times a week so we awoke to a hard freeze this morning.)

I took Thor in to be groomed and his undercoat had gotten very matted. It was easier on him just to buzz him and start over. He looks kind of naked - to the point I'm contemplating getting my huge dog a sweater. He seems pretty happy about it though - he feels lighter and is more energetic.

Something I've been working on since December is health and fitness. It would be pretty hard for most of us to go Red Dawn if necessary in our current physiques.

I've been walking a lot but the thing that has made the most difference for me is DDP Yoga. (I don't get a penny for endorsing them.) Even if you are bedridden or chairbound, they have a program for you. A friend recommended it to me a while back but I started really doing it with determination back in December, as opposed to hit or miss. The thing I've noticed most (besides some weight loss) is increased agility. At 52, that's a real bonus.

This week, since we have a gym here at my apartment complex, I started doing a powerlifting program. (Update: I'm a weenie.) As we get age, weights can help build bone density and keep us from getting injured as easily. Plus, I just want to be stronger.

I encourage you to work on your own fitness if necessary. It's good for your body AND your mind.

THE ORGANIC PREPPER NUCLEAR SURVIVAL ANTHOLOGY

The worsening crisis between Russia and Ukraine appears that it may end up involving the rest of the world.

Threats have been issued, as often happens in times of war and hostility.

One of the most terrifying of those threats is the prospect of nuclear war.

We’ve gathered together all our content about nuclear survival so that we can put it in an easily printable format for you. You may find that some information is repetitive and also shared in other articles in the guide. We wanted to get this to you as quickly as possible.

I want to be abundantly clear when I say that this guide is not assembled out of fear.

Don’t prep with fear. Prep with information.

Preparedness that is fear-based will not lead you to a good place. You will overlook important things. You will be more prone to believe the hysteria on social media and the mainstream news. Preparedness that is knowledge-based will help you block out the noise and focus on the things that are the most important.

When you read over this guide, you will see that some of it is simply knowledge about different nuclear capabilities and what happens during a nuclear blast. It’s important to know these things so that you can assess your risk accurately.

The rest of it is to help you do the best you can to secure your home from fallout and radiation. Remember, we can only do what we can do. We can only do the best we can with our resources, our locations, and our limitations. Don’t waste time on things that are out of reach.

You CAN survive.

We are survivors, and we can give ourselves a better chance to prevail. We need to prepare to the best of our ability, understand the scenarios, and try not to lose our focus in a cloud of anxiety and stress.

If you’re like a lot of folks, you may be feeling pretty overwhelmed right now. Take control of the things you can and try to focus on the basics of survival. There are many things going on that are completely beyond our control, and spending your time endlessly watching the horrors and speculation is not productive. Spend your time preparing or spend it doing things that bring you peace. Don’t let yourself get sucked in.

We are offering this printable guide at "name your own price" to make it affordable to everyone. If times are hard, pay as little as a dollar. If you are in a position to help out the website, you can pitch in something extra. Either way, we appreciate your support.

Here’s hoping we never need to use this information.

HERE'S WHAT I'VE BEEN READING, WATCHING, AND LISTENING TO THIS WEEK

I have focused more of my time offline this week. The constant horrors of the news serve no purpose but to stir up fear. While it's important to keep abreast of the situation, you don't have to do so around the clock.

I spent more of my online time this week on preparedness and self-reliance research.

Brian and Dale from the Survival Preppers will be talking about preparing for an uncertain future tonight. Be sure to set your reminder for the live stream here. I'll see you in the comments section!
